Yorktown Assembly of God’s Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

 -UPDATED March 18th, 2020-

“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

Our hearts stand with those worldwide affected by the coronavirus, health workers and first responders who are valiantly trying to diagnose and treat patients, and those under quarantine awaiting results of their health screening. We pray for God’s healing anointing to pour over our land and for His perfect peace to touch every worried and anxious heart.

One of the best tips we have had come our way in the midst of this situation is for people to spend the recommended 20 seconds that they’re washing their hands in prayer. What a great way to keep our minds on Jesus in the midst of a stressful time. As the ladies learned in our Bible study, “Where you stare is where you steer.” We need to steer our families and our friends to the peace that only Jesus can bring.

In Romans 13:1-5 the Bible clearly states that we are to submit to the authorities of our government for they are God's servants.

Due to recent mandates and recommendations, services and fellowships here at Yorktown Assembly of God have been postponed until further notice.

Sunday morning at 9am we will be live streaming service with our worship team leading us in worship and Pastor Foster bringing us a fresh word. The live streaming will be available on our Facebook page, Youtube Channel, & Vimeo Channel.

This is new territory for all of us. Information and mandates surrounding this virus are changing rapidly. We are working to get things in order as the information becomes available to us. Please have patience with us as we navigate this totally new territory as a church. Please keep Pastor Foster and the entire Yorktown Assembly of God church staff and volunteers in your prayers during this time. Pray that God gives them the wisdom on how to best meet the needs of His people during such difficult times.

Know that during this time we are praying for you and your family. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you are in need. We are here for you. While our doors may be closed (temporarily) our hearts are wide open.

Please continue to join us in prayer for our country, our leaders, & President Trump who have the difficult task of navigating this unprecedented situation.
